The least commercial holiday?

Well, maybe. That wouldn’t be hard, would it?

But this article ignores the interests Big Food has in this most food-oriented of our national holidays. While the day is presented to us as a celebration of what we have, and the food portion sold to us as “heritage,” it’s well-known that the “traditional” foods we’re actually eating are QUITE DIFFERENT from what the Pilgrims and (Not Really) Native Americans had.

But who are we to stand in the way of your gluttony? Do what you will.

The Flashlight will be taking a stand by FASTING today. Because nothing teaches you what you’re thankful for like going without.
